The purest expression of Civet Cat Chypre — the same masterful formula, now in 100% pure perfume oil with no alcohol, for an even deeper, more intimate wearing experience.

Civet Cat Chypre Oil is a classic chypre perfume built around real civet paste, orris butter, and oakmoss absolute. It opens with luminous bergamot, lemon, and lavender, revealing a heart of rose otto, rose absolute, and jasmine absolute, before settling into a deep, powdery base of Indian sandalwood, labdanum, tonka bean, and real civet — carried in pure perfume oil for maximum longevity and skin warmth.

Handcrafted in Canada by perfumer Matthew Meleg, this oil perfume is made in small batches using a high concentration of natural materials, including genuine Ethiopian civet paste, GC-MS-verified orris butter and rose absolute, and oakmoss above IFRA limits. Each bottle is blended, aged, and finished with the care of an artisan perfume house.

Notes:
Top: Bergamot, lemon, clary sage, lavender
Heart: Rose otto, rose absolute, jasmine absolute, cedarwood, carrot seed
Base: Orris butter, Indian sandalwood, labdanum, tonka bean, real civet paste, oakmoss absolute

Style: Chypre, animalic, floral

THIS WOODEN BOX REPRESENTS AN APPLE BIN

I managed my families "Meleg's Orchard," in a small south Ontario town until I was 25. The orchard started with Sam Meleg, a Slovak from the Provence of Vojvodina, former Kingdom of Serbia of the Austro Hungarian Empire. My work ethic, self deprecating humour and stubborn nature is reflective of my Slovak, peasant roots.

Here my cousins are laying crops into the "apple bin." My wooden perfume box is meant to represent apple bins. Be they rose, vetiver or jasmine farmers. Be they from India, Mexico, Canada or Iran - Meleg Perfumes celebrates farmers and artisans of all nations.
