Élégie Boréale is a rich amber perfume built around aged dark patchouli, Vietnamese agarwood, and real sandalwood. It opens with bergamot, pink pepper, anise, and cassis absolute, revealing a heart of guaiac wood, orris butter, cinnamon, and jasmine grandiflorum absolute, before settling into a golden, resinous base of agarwood, labdanum, dark vetiver, vanilla bean absolute, and benzoin.
Handcrafted in Canada by perfumer Matthew Meleg, Élégie Boréale is made in small batches using 100% natural materials, including genuine Vietnamese agarwood oil, real sandalwood, and aged labdanum absolute. Each bottle is blended, aged, and finished with the care of an artisan perfume house.

I managed my families "Meleg's Orchard," in a small south Ontario town until I was 25. The orchard started with Sam Meleg, a Slovak from the Provence of Vojvodina, former Kingdom of Serbia of the Austro Hungarian Empire. My work ethic, self deprecating humour and stubborn nature is reflective of my Slovak, peasant roots.
Here my cousins are laying crops into the "apple bin." My wooden perfume box is meant to represent apple bins. Be they rose, vetiver or jasmine farmers. Be they from India, Mexico, Canada or Iran - Meleg Perfumes celebrates farmers and artisans of all nations.
